AwesomeMath Academy was founded in 2014 to give talented students the opportunity to explore mathematics and physics beyond the school curriculum. The focus of all our courses is problem solving in a collaborative environment so that students can not only excel in competitions, but also learn the skills necessary to excel in STEM careers.
PLEASE NOTE: AwesomeMath Academy courses are designed to supplement and reinforce the training students receive through self study or in their school competition math programs as well as helps prepare students for the rigors they will encounter in the AwesomeMath Summer Program.
We have the following options for courses:
Beginner problem solvers in the Dallas/Plano area who are in elementary/middle school and new to problem solving and/or just beginning to explore the joys of mathematics competitions can take AwesomeMath Academy Classes with us at QD Academy (at the corner of Coit and Legacy in Plano, TX).
Intermediate to experienced problem solvers who wish to hone their competition skills for the AMC 10 through to the AIME level can enjoy our Intermediate and Advanced courses (available online).
Physics students who wish to train for the F=MA physics competition, which is the qualifying exam for the International Physics Olympiad, can take either our Level 1 Physics class if they are new to the competition or our Level 2 class if they wish to try and qualify for the Physics Olympiad (both courses available online).
Students who are at the USA(J)MO to IMO level for math competition training where proof articulation is required, would benefit greatly from the AwesomeMath Year-Round Program (available online).
Why is our program unique?
Many enrichment centers focus on accelerated curriculum, teaching speed and accuracy to solve math exercises, and not math problems.
Our program focuses on problem solving. We are teaching our students how to think by providing the tools for how to approach problems in math and physics.
Our classes are taught by exemplary instructors who have specialized experience and education in their field and more importantly in math and physics competitions.
We use competitions as a vehicle to give students challenging problems, and more over, expose them to carefully chosen problems and concepts so that they can increase their understanding of discrete mathematics and their comprehension of how to solve competition problems.
All AwesomeMath programs place a strong emphasis on collaboration and are highly interactive. Further, students have access to chat sessions and office hours to increase their depth of understanding.

Students scoring well on AIME and interested in progressing to USA(J)MO levels to IMO levels, should explore the AwesomeMath Year-Round program (online)

Founder, Dr. Titu Andreescu, is a professor at University of Texas at Dallas and created the Math Rocks program in Plano
Dr. Andreescu coached the US International Mathematics team the first year the US earned a perfect score (1994) and was the coach for the current IMO leader
Our program provides preparation for the AMC tests and many colleges that value STEM are asking for AMC test scores along with SAT/ACT results
Dr. Andreescu was the director for the AMC Math Competitions for 8 years
Our students learn Discrete Mathematics (the math of modern computing) topics such as Number Theory and Counting/Probability (Combinatorics)
